O_O <-- I think that sums it up. i mean, wow. that's a lot and to organize all of it must have taken a decent amount of time. however, congrats on organizing it all.
Right now i'm rushing through everything i can do on the comp because i'm grounded from it for the week because i refused to go to church on sunday. I should've tolerated it, but that weekend, there was no way I could've. Also I finished cleaning my room so yay for me on that ^^

I soooo hate stupid american parents.
Either way, that is amazing Wiseman. I have the same amount of every kind of data on here, and to sort it sometiems it's really a pain. Although I think it'd be time to sort some things out in the trash, and into it's right place soon.

IRT Blah: Just use some complelling arguement as tp why you don't wan't to go to church. Either, you convince them to stop going, or they will send you to brainwash camp. If the latter is the case, then you can work on causing a religious revolution.
-
IRT Blahguy: Ugh, that sucks. I don't know much about your situation but I'd try explaining my parents I don't give a damn about god, angels, or the tooth fairy.

After a strange series of events, I found myself explaining electron configurations (spdf orbitals) to my family.
-
I have tried explaining it to my mom in many ways time and time again, while staying calm and being business like about the situation. The facts are that she just wants to pretend that we're all there and are a happy little catholic family(if anything little impies to my family*) rationalizing isn't a way out of it, but i respect religions and really do not want to go so far as to be disrespectful during Mass because it would be a distraction to other people. Unfortunately I don't see many options to persuade her, so I'm thinking of starting off small and bringing my Gameboy with me to play with and no doubt she will try to take it, but slowly make things worse until she finally cracks.
*my mom is 6'7, my dads 6'2, and my 12 year old lil bro is 6 foot. plus my older bro and i are 6'5. now you get it, lol.
IRT Hyper: American parents aren't bad, and I wouldn't go so far as to say my mother is a bad mother just because of this, but I think she is overzealous about the whole "teaching your children the word of God" idea and otherwise I think I'm giving a pretty bad representation of parents from the U.S. to you, lol.
and not forgetting the name of the topic, I am currently checking and clearing mail and posting here because this board beats the hell out of any others ^^

Lol, I read this sentence thinking you meant explaining electron orbitals.
The facts are that she just wants to pretend that we're all there and are a happy little catholic family(if anything little impies to my family*) rationalizing isn't a way out of it
She'll eventually have to realize you can't be all catholic, unless you want to. Otherwise, she'd be hurting you.
but i respect religions and really do not want to go so far as to be disrespectful during Mass because it would be a distraction to other people
Don't. Why respecting a religion when their users want to force it upon you?
bringing my Gameboy with me to play with
That's starting to sound better. At least, you won't be listening, and you'll have fun.
WRT "the word of god": Has he ever talked to you? Then he has no "word" ^_^. Think of it this way: if a superb, macho, omni-everything being is so cool and wants you to pray, can't he at least use his omnipresence to let you know he even exists? And I'm being somewhat silly with this reasoning, because gods can't exist in the first place. You can rule them out with just a bit of rational thinking.

So you sink down to their level?
Disrespecting a person's beliefs is one of the most immature things anyone can do.
-
well in the line you quoted Wise, it even says why I don't want to.
"but i respect religions and really do not want to go so far as to be disrespectful during Mass because it would be a distraction to other people"
not everyone in the church is forcing me to go, lol. I have no problems disrupting my mother in the middle of mass because she is the one that made me come. I dont believe in group punishments as it's moronic to make everyone aggravated for only one person's doings so just because I do not agree with their beliefs, I think it's important to be respectful enough to any culture or religion and that if you do not enjoy it than you may just stay out of it. the only problem is that i don't want to get permanently banned from the church and make it an embarressment for my mother, but yes, i am realizing that that may be a last, desperate scenario.

IRT Blahguy: I dont believe in group punishments
Neither do I, but this is different; blind beliefs are laughing stock.
it's important to be respectful enough to any culture or religion and that if you do not enjoy it than you may just stay out of it
It's important to be respectful, but respect doesn't come free. They have to earn it, and so far, the only religions that deserve it from me is those who are not really religions, like Buddhism, Taoism or Shintoism, which I'll never criticize outside punctual superstition (in fact, Dalai Lama is one of the persons I have the most respect for). Same goes for cultures, only in this case, I've found most cultures worthy and some of them admirable (yet again, you can't expect me to respect some cultures in Africa, for example, where it's customary that you get a gun when you're old enough to walk and girls get their genitals mutilated - I can only despise that).
Nothing that comes out of sheer stupidity deserves any respect. To those respect-happy emo people, I'd ask if they respect the KKK.
the only problem is that i don't want to get permanently banned from the church and make it an embarressment for my mother
Don't worry, your mother won't be embarrassed of her son; religion is not all there is to life, in fact, it's a completely useless facet.
